Battlefield Relic WW1 WWI German M16 M1916 Helmet Stahlhelm

Description

For auction is a battlefield relic M16 German helmet from WW1. Sadly I am not sure on the backstory of where it was recovered, but it was obviously out there for a number of decades. The back has a big rust hole, whereas you can see remains of paint still on the front. The front must have been buried in the soil, somewhat protecting the paint and steel.
I believe, due to the rounded off air vents, that the maker of this helmet was R Lindenberg A.G., Remscheld-Hasten (the helmets had a bell and the letter L maker marked inside them). There is, due to the condition, no recognizable maker mark.
