    Description

    WOW!  What a super cute
    Asian motif hostess lounge pajama set from 1970s!  These sets came on the scene in the early 70s when casual entertaining with groovy fashions became a thing.  This fabric was really popular because it was easy care and didn't need to be ironed.  It is a light weight polyester knit that washes like a dream.  The top is a tunic length with 5.5" slits on either side at the hip.  There is a Mandarin collar with 8 original self-covered buttons in a diagonal strip like a Chinese cheongsam style.  The sleeves are long and set in.  There is side darting on the right that matches where the buttoned area ends creating the second dart.  The self belt is present.  The pants are very simple with covered elastic at the waist.  The legs are stovepipe the same width at the bottom as at the hip.  What a great piece of fashion history from the 1970s!  The focal point is the awesome floral print with gold outlining in the leaves and flowers!    This is a quality set that some fashionista rocked back in 1973!
    Measurements:  Top: 38” at the chest; 36” at the waist, the hips are up to 42", and it 25.5” in length from the shoulder to the  hemline.  Pants: waist 26-40", hips 40", inseam 31".  There is  give to this fabric but it is meant to be worn loose and casual.  There is no label but this can be machine washed in cold water and I would hang it to dry so it will last longer.  It will not need ironing.
