    Description

Japanese etched and painted metal vase showing
Mt. Fuji with cranes (symbol of longevity) in the foreground on a bronze color background fading to black at the top and bottom.
There are two kanji characters inscribed on the side:

    and

    (note the

kanji is highly stylized.), meaning “Futayama” , which is probably the artist’s name.
Inside also is coated (with epoxy?) to protect the vase if water is used in the vase. (see photo). It appears never to have been used.
I do not know what type of metal it is, but it is non-ferrous (magnet does not stick to it).
Approximately 9 ¼ inches tall, 6 ¾ inches at it’s widest diameter with a 3 inch top opening.
I purchased this at a flea market in Japan about 17 years ago.
I am selling this piece “as is” with no returns. I take my photos with a high intensity light and some with magnification to show you as much detail as I can and to let you know what you are buying. Please view the photos carefully. I am happy to take additional photos upon request and to respond to any inquiries for more information.
The price includes shipping and handling.
