    Description

    Japanese Tobe-yaki Seiji Porcelain Vase, Tobe-cho, Iyo District, Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku. The traditional Japanese ceramic production of porcelain wares from Tobe are known for their pure white clay body. The Celadon glazed is referred to as the color of clear water. This vase is a wheel potted  baluster form with narrow short neck and wide everted lip having ribbed sides so that the clear celadon glaze can pool in the ridges.
    A cobalt blue single character mark on the recessed base and an unglazed trimmed foot rim.
    Late 20th century.
    Excellent condition.
