    Description

    This stunning covered earthenware storage vessel looks like Japanese Tamba ware or Sancai art pottery, but it's unmarked and I haven't been able to identify it. It's quite beautiful, with a brown drip glaze accented with blue and a tiny bit of rose. It has a band of roulette gear texture on the shoulder. It's pretty big, 13 1/2" high with the lid and about 12" diameter at the widest point. The base is 6" diameter. This is clearly a very high quality and unusual piece, and I have no doubt that the winning bidder will be very pleased with it. Shipped USPS, UPS, or free local pickup outside Washington DC.
