his behemoth cab is comprised of native gold and quartz. To the best of my knowledge, it's parent rock hails from California. She's a plump gem (4.7 mm thick), extremely rich, and contains one of the most interesting palettes of colors I've seen in a gold quartz. I love the dramatic, rainbow landscape of colors. Masses of gold inhabits and shows on both sides of this unique cab.
Because of it's richness, I polished both front and back faces. One face is slightly-domed while the other is essentially flat. For natural beauty, rarity, and richness, this gem is in a league of it's own. If you don't use it for a jewelry project, just cache this baby away. Cabs like this don't come around every day. Twenty bucks a carat for GQ cabs this rich is also a very hard price to beat.

s the operator/sole proprietor of Gold of Eldorado, I actively mined gold for 18 years. Beginning long ago, perhaps in a past life, something in the mystique of this rare, precious, golden metal attracted me to it. Searching for Au (gold) and working with it in it's multitude of forms has become my life-way. However this happened is one of those wonderful mysteries which made my short walk of life here on planet Earth so amazing.
If you are a fan of gold quartz suitable for gemstone applications, please let me know if there are any specific sizes, colors, or cabochon-shapes you might be interested in. I may be able to accommodate you with a custom-made creation.

feedback for disputes arising from non-authenticity of the specimens I sell. All of my advertised specimens, slabs, cabochons, gold ores et al are comprised of naturally-occurring minerals (not man-made). These will contain visible native gold and/or are composed almost entirely of gold (i.e. gold nuggets, gold flakes, wire gold specimens).

GOLDEN TREASURES

reasure's where you find it. Depending on what an individual needs, how much gold filled his poke may not have been the truest measure of how rich a life he lived.
I viewed myself as a fair to middlin' prospector, but came to realize that many obstacles may stand in the way of success in the mining industry. Gold claims can be tough nuts to crack. Depending upon their characters, prevailing conditions limit how much one person equipped with basic tools can accomplish on them. Even before an operations phase is entered, in terms of importance, gaining access is vital. Next, if you're one who pays heed to such matters as legality, receiving the legal authorization to mine is key. Armed with this, it's imperative you have the right tools to do the job. During my 20 year stint of mining, I learned plenty about placer formations, but quickly came to realize that without legal access, one never really can determine how good a property is.
For the amount of ground worked during my career (a thousand yards give or take), almost all of it by hand or with suction dredges, the 200 oz. recovered seemed like a decent haul. That would equate to a lot of money on today's market even though it wasn't worth much back when placer-mining was my trade. I knew small-scale miners who found so much gold, it stretched the boundaries of belief. Truth be told, I spent way too much time digging in 'hungry dirt' and worked-over ground. It's still gratifying at the end of the day being able to tell oneself "at least I tried". One valuable lesson about prospecting a guy who's been there might pass on is "go where the gold is, not where it isn't or was."
Here again, let me emphasize that whatever degree of commercial success comes your way, strive to become better at your trade and find something you really like to do. It's sad and surprising how many people choose to become 'loaf-about-the-forts', defeatists, victims, and leaches. O.K. maybe you didn't have the same advantages others did. If you're not mature enough to understand that's the way of the world... "hey, nobody ever said life was fair!" I say you can accomplish anything you set your mind to by adopting a 'git-er-done', hard-worker attitude. Remain focused and positive. You may surprise yourself. I sure did! There's far too many people making 'negative waves' in the world today. I say if you play your cards right, a pair of deuces beats two pair any day. Don't be a drop-out, be something mom, pop, and your family would be proud of.
Thanks for checking out our digs.
