RARE WWI FLAGS OF OUR ALLIES TOKEN, R T FELTUS LUMBER CO. CHICAGO TOOL CHECK TAG

Description

This rare patriotic item from the World War I years actually is a tool check (tag) from the R. T. Feltus Lumber Company in Chicago, Illinois (stated on one side with the stamped number 202 and the mark of the manufacturer, partially hidden by dirt but appearing to be the American Badge Co.).  The other side has an image of a group of flags with those of the United States and the United Kingdom in the front, with the words
OLD GLORY AND THE FLAGS OF OUR ALLIES
along the rim.  There are two holes used to secure this tool check to the item.
This tag was struck very well, with bold design and lettering.  The diameter i
s approximately 32 mm (1-1/4") in diameter, and it is composed of a silver-toned metal, likely a nickel alloy.
This item is in very fine condition, with fairly light actual wear, signs of handling, toning, and soiling, and it has a very bright toned silver color.
