    Description

This is a fabulous 40s glass beaded wool gabardine suit.
The suit has a jacket and skirt.  The jacket has a large beaded long notched collar and turned up triangle shaped beaded front panels below the waist to the hem.  It has very large bat wing sleeves and a three button front closure.  The buttons are self covered fabric.  The lining is a teal colored silk.  The skirt is unlined.  The skirt has a narrow waist band and a side metal zipper 7" long.  There is a flap and button closure above the zipper.  There is a pleated "kick" pleat in the front of the skirt instead of the back. The color of the suit is deep teal, very pretty.  I have had lots of black, brown, navy and gray suits over the years but the pretty colored ones are harder to find.
The condition is good vintage.  A tiny smudge of whitish surface spot about 3/4" and very, very light, almost not visible, on the upper chest left side area which will dry clean out.  No pit stains, no rot, no fading, no big holes.  There are four tiny holes.  None of the holes are on the front or on the skirt.  They are located on the back of the jacket in the large area of the sleeves.  The sleeve on the right has two little holes, one of them pin dot.  The other sleeve has one pin dot hole and an "almost" hole not through the fabric.  These are photographed for you.
The measurements of the suit taken laid flat and measured straight across are:

shoulder to shoulder 16" approx as they are inset sleeves
